 Apeejay College of Fine Arts continues its legacy of shining in the Youth Festival

Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar continues its legacy of shining in the Youth Festival. It created a history by bagging the Inter-Zonal Youth Festival Championship trophy for 24th time in row.

The Jalandhar-based college, which is known across the nation for its art and culture and creating stars, has proved that it is the epitome of the best of what Fine Arts and Performing Arts can create. The festival was conducted at and by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in order to give a platform to the students to encourage their skills and participation in extracurricular activities.

In the three days C-Zone Youth Festival, ACFA participated in a total of 36 activities and won the coveted top 3 prizes in different items. ACFA scored 169 marks and won the Championship trophy and created history while maintaining its legacy.

The college bagged covetous prize in Classical Dance, Folk Orchestra, Vaar Singing, Kawishri, Mime, Mimicry, Skit, One Act Play, Classical Vocal, Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Group Bhajan, Group Song, Gazal, Folk Song, Painting on the Spot, Rangoli, Poster Making, Clay Modeling, Poetic Symposium, Debate, Western Vocal (Solo & Group), Western Instrumental Solo and Gidha.

The college bagged 2nd prize in and 3rd prize in Classical Instrumental ( Non – Percussion), Cartooning, Phulkari, Mehendi, Installation, Elocution, Quiz  and 3rd in Bhangra, Group Dance and Costume Parade.

Expressing her ecstasy over this win, Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, shared that she is extremely happy with the results. She humbly boasted and said, “Apeejay has always been a winner in the academic, artistic, and co-curricular activities. I congratulate  all the winners and their respective mentors who had been working tirelessly day and night for months in order to put their best foot forward on stage.”

She also put forth that ACFA has been touching these great heights and soaring higher with the full support, guidance,  farsightedness, able leadership and vision of Mrs. Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education. She added, “The college functions on the principles and motto set by its Founder Chairman Dr. Stya Paul, who had established this college with the vision to promote and encourage art and culture amongst the masses.”

Expressing her views, student Shrutee Sharma shared, “The youth festival was such an amazing experience! I became a more confident speaker and sure of myself. The teachers who mentored us ( literary team) were great guides, and honestly, our win is just as much theirs—if not even more!”

Another student Sukhanjot Johal said, “Being a part of the literary team for youth festival has been a surreal experience. Achieving 1st at zonal level and 2nd at inter-zonal in poetical symposium are the moments that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. This would not have been possible without the sincere and healthy environment created by the mentors and rest of the literary team.”

Lastly, Dr. Dhingra especially acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of Dr. Amita Mishra (Dean, Youth Festival), Dr. Arun Mishra (College’s Cultural Advisor) and various other teachers in charge of the respective items in which the students had participated. Dr. Dhingra put forth that such historic wins are possible only with the able guidance of the teachers and sheer hard work of the students. Furthermore, she says that it is a momentous occasion for the college as Apeejay has been winning the overall championship trophy for the last 24 years.
