In a harmonious blend of education and joy, the pre-primary students at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri recently embarked on a delightful adventure known as “Dry Fruit Day.” This innovative event not only brought smiles to the faces of the young learners but also imparted valuable lessons about nutrition and the wonders of nature, weaving together a tapestry of knowledge and exploration.

Under the guidance of their dedicated Teacher In charge, Ms. Navneet, the children delved into a world of sensory delights and botanical wonders, creating memories that would resonate with them for a lifetime. The event was organised on February 16, 2024.

The vibrant atmosphere of the classroom became a hub of excitement as children eagerly explored various types of dry fruits. From the sweet succulence of dates to the crunchy goodness of almonds, each dry fruit captivated the curious minds of the little learners. The interactive session covered not only the names, shapes, and colours of these nutritional gems but also delved into their health benefits.

Ingeniously integrating fun games and interactive quizzes, the teachers ensured that the learning experience was not only educational but also immensely enjoyable. Through these activities, the children developed a nuanced understanding of the nutritional value associated with different dry fruits.

Venturing outdoors, the children immersed themselves in the natural wonders of their surroundings. Guided by their teachers, they revelled in the beauty of a tray garden, marvelling at the sight of different plants nestled in the loving embrace of nature. The outdoor exploration fostered a deeper appreciation for the environment as the children observed the vibrant hues of blooming flowers and the intricate patterns of leaves.

Through hands-on activities like planting seeds and nurturing saplings, the children actively participated in the nurturing process, cultivating a sense of responsibility and connection to the environment. The sensory experience of being in nature enriched their understanding of the world around them, with the gentle rustle of leaves, melodious chirping of birds, and earthy aroma of the soil creating a sensory tapestry that stimulated their senses.

The day not only immersed the children in the botanical realm but also introduced them to the concept of a balanced diet. Interactive storytelling sessions and fun role-playing activities provided insights into the importance of incorporating nutrient-rich foods like dry fruits into their daily lives, fostering habits of healthy eating from a young age.

“In essence, through a blend of interactive learning, outdoor exploration, and hands-on experiences, Dry Fruit Day at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri epitomised the school’s commitment to holistic education. It nurtured the minds, bodies, and spirits of its youngest learners, leaving them eagerly anticipating the next adventure in the captivating world of learning.
