Bhoomika Mullick, a Brand Service Executive at Vermillion, pursued Television and Radio Journalism at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), Dwarka. In an engaging conversation, she shares insights into her professional life, her memories from AIMC, and her advice for current students. Read edited excerpts:
Tell us about your work Bhoomika. What does a regular day look like for you?
A typical day for a client servicing professional involves managing client relationships, addressing inquiries, and ensuring that services or products are delivered effectively. It’s an amazing experience, where we learn something new every day. My duties include managing client relationships to ensure satisfaction, resolving client issues, providing solutions, communicating effectively with both clients and internal teams, and gathering feedback to work on service improvements.
Excellent! Now could you please share some memories from your time as an AIMC student?
Every day at AIMC was amazing, especially with my friends. We supported each other through group projects, and I learned a lot from my peers. Those experiences were invaluable and formed the foundation of my professional skills.
Did the teachers guide you well at AIMC
Yes, the teachers were incredibly helpful. They guided me throughout my journey. I knew nothing about filmmaking when I started, but with their help, I secured a summer internship and eventually a job. Their support was crucial to my success.
Were you campus-placed? Can you tell us about your journey?
Yes, I was campus-placed. I had the opportunity to learn and intern with Albela Films and Studios during my summer internship. Following that, I secured a position at Vermillion. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance of my professors, who supported me throughout my time at AIMC.

What are three key qualities required in your field?
Passion, punctuality, and being street smart are essential qualities for success in this field.
So what is the one piece of advice you would give to current students?
My advice to current students is to stay curious and open to learning. Embrace every opportunity to explore different subjects, engage in diverse experiences, and ask questions. This mindset will help you discover your passions and equip you with a broad set of skills and knowledge valuable in any field you pursue.
