The Apeejay Inter-School Model United Nations (AISMUN) at Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad is more than just a debating platform, it is a tradition that continues to shape leaders year after year. At the 9th edition of the conference, what stood out was not just the young delegates, but also the enthusiastic return of alumni who once held the coveted title of Secretary-General. Their presence brought a strong sense of legacy, belonging, and inspiration for the next generation.
Harsh Malhotra:
For Harsh Malhotra (Batch of 2022, Chief Advisor & Former Secretary-General), AISMUN has been a life-changing journey. “I started doing MUNs back in Class 9 and gradually took on multiple roles, design, finance, media, and logistics. Over the years, I moved from creating posts to managing the entire organisation. In fact, I was Secretary-General in 2021, which was an online edition that even attracted international delegations. Today, as Chief Advisor, my role is to guide students in logistics and executive board selections, ensuring the conference reaches a higher level,” he shared.
Reflecting on his transformation, Harsh recalled, “In Class 8, my teacher remembered me as the quiet kid at the back. Later, she couldn’t believe I had become so confident. That’s what MUN gave me – the ability to speak my heart out. My fondest memory now is simply returning to my school, meeting juniors, and feeling that sense of belongingness.”
Pranav Vinayak Jain:
Pranav Vinayak Jain (Batch of 2021, Chairperson UNGA & Former Secretary-General) brought in a deeply personal reflection, “Even something as simple as drinking water from the same school tap brought back a flood of memories – football days, long conversations, and the energy of being a student here. AISMUN has shaped so much of who I am today. I see juniors in Class 8 achieving what we only managed by Class 10, that level of growth is remarkable. For me, AISMUN was never just about winning debates, it was about learning to lead, building friendships, and carrying forward the values of Apeejay into the world outside.”
He further added, “My fondest memory as Secretary-General was watching the entire Secretariat work like a well-oiled machine, handling crises with maturity far beyond their years. It reminded me that leadership isn’t about commanding, it’s about empowering others to shine. That is the greatest lesson Apeejay School, Faridabad gave me, and it continues to guide me in my academic and personal journey.”
Krishna Bansal:
Krishna Bansal (Batch of 2023, Former Secretary-General) spoke about the values Apeejay instilled in him. “Apeejay has been my home since pre-nursery, and the faculty always supported us personally. I started MUNs in Class 6, working in logistics and delegate affairs. Over time, I grew into the role of Secretary-General. Holding the gavel at the start of the conference still gives me goosebumps,” he recalled.
Krishna also reflected on the change he saw in the next generation: “Juniors today are achieving in Class 8 what we were doing in Class 10. They are confident, unafraid to interact, and they encourage one another. That’s something I really admire.”
Jujhar Singh:
Jujhar Singh (Batch of 2023, UNCSTD Co-Chairperson & Former Secretary-General) recalled hosting one of the largest editions of AISMUN. “During my year as Secretary-General, we had the biggest number of delegates in AISMUN history. That happened because of teamwork, strong connections, and sheer dedication. It was the largest MUN in Delhi-NCR at the time,” he shared with pride.
MUN, he said, had been transformative: “I began in Class 7, when MUN wasn’t very popular. It turned me into a confident speaker, helped me become a school anchor, and taught me leadership. Coming back each year truly feels like home. Apeejay gave me not just academics, but values, sportsmanship, and human values that guide me even today.”
