AIDians secure positions in painting competition; capture the ‘Issue of Disability’ in their paintings

A moment of pride for Apeejay Institute of Design, New Delhi as two of its students recently won in the painting competition held during the 15th edition of the ‘International We Care Film Festival – Changing Attitudes On Disability Issues’.

Dhritee Saha and Navya from the Foundation Department of AID bagged 2nd and 3rd prizes while receiving a trophy and certificate on the occasion. The students had sent their entries based on the theme of the event, which was ‘Issue of Disability’.

International We Care Film Festival is celebrated every year at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), Dwarka to create awareness about disability issues through the medium of films. Organised in collaboration with Brotherhood, an internationally recognised NGO, UNESCO, and UN Information Centre, the endeavour is to remove the myths, misconceptions, prejudices and stereotypes about disabled people among society while acknowledging their special abilities.

A total of 26 students of AID from Foundation and Graphic Design Departments participated in the event sending their entries for the painting and photography competitions . Alongside showcasing a photography and painting exhibition, the two-day festival also featured film screening of award-winning entries of both National and International level with inspirational themes based on the topic.
