Excursions play a pivotal role for school students as they provide students with the opportunity to experience learning outside the classroom. They can see, touch, and interact with the subject matter in a real-world context, which often leads to deeper understanding and retention of knowledge.
Trips can expose students to different cultures, environments, and perspectives, broadening their horizons and helping them develop empathy and understanding for people from diverse backgrounds.

To inculcate the same aspects among students, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park organised a trip to Shoghi, a sacred place in Himachal Pradesh. The trip was mostly for the students of classes X and XII.
The excursion provided a well-rounded experience, combining essential life and survival skills with enjoyment and education. Students engaged in a range of thrilling adventure activities such as rock climbing, rappelling, rope net challenges, trekking, and ziplining.

These activities not only promoted teamwork and resilience but also enhanced their physical fitness. One of the most memorable moments was the trek to Sunset Point, offering awe-inspiring vistas of the sun dipping behind the mountains, casting the sky in a stunning array of colours.

The excursion also prioritised cultural immersion, offering students a rich experience of Himachal traditions. Through the meals served, they were introduced to local culinary delights, fostering an appreciation and connection with the region’s culture. The healthy and delicious food provided ensured students remained nourished and energised for the day’s activities.

Moreover, a visit to Shimla’s vibrant Mall Road and the bustling Lakkar Bazaar provided opportunities for students to explore local markets and historical sites, deepening their understanding and appreciation of Himachal’s cultural heritage.

These experiences not only broadened their cultural knowledge but also left a lasting impression, fostering a sense of curiosity and respect for diverse traditions.
Evenings were delightfully spent around bonfires, accompanied by light music that encouraged friendly conversations and camaraderie among students and teachers.

These moments of bonding, shared stories, and laughter added a cozy warmth to the cool mountain nights. Overall, the trip to Shoghi was a memorable and holistic educational experience, blending adventure, cultural enrichment, and the splendor of nature, leaving a lasting impression on the students.
