The MAC Forum of the PG Department of Commerce at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, recently organised a vibrant and engaging Ad Mad Show, showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm of its students. The three-day event, which ran from a teaser reel on Instagram to a Publicity Campaign and culminated in the Ad Mad Show, offered students a platform to delve into the world of advertising while honing their skills in creative thinking and teamwork.

The event began with a teaser reel on Instagram, designed to pique the interest of students and faculty alike. This was followed by a publicity campaign that saw students from various semesters promoting the event with innovative ideas, creating a buzz around the upcoming Ad Mad Show. The teaser and campaign were instrumental in building momentum for the main event, ensuring a high level of participation and engagement.

The Ad Mad Show itself was officially introduced by Archa (BBA Semester 5), who outlined the event’s objectives and thanked the faculty for providing such a valuable opportunity.

“This event is not just about making advertisements; it’s about understanding the fundamentals of the advertising industry and the creativity that drives it,” Archa said, expressing her gratitude to the teachers for their continued support.

Dr Neerja DhingraPrincipal of ACFA, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Dr Monika Mogal, Head of the Commerce Department, and other faculty members.

Dr Dhingra emphasised the importance of the advertising industry, noting its significant role in creating business opportunities. “At ACFA, we are committed to giving our students exposure to real-world industries. Events like these encourage brainstorming and creativity, which are essential in carving out a successful career path,” she said.

In a special segment of the event, core members of the MAC Forum were awarded badges with specific designations, recognising their leadership and responsibility. Archa (BBA Sem 5) and Sanya (BCom Sem 5) were appointed president and vice-president, respectively, of the MAC Forum. This symbolic gesture aimed to instil leadership qualities and a sense of discipline among the students.

The Ad Mad Show saw enthusiastic participation from students of BBA and B.Com, with groups from various semesters creating engaging and humorous advertisements. Each group selected a unique product to advertise, using elements like music, props, characters, and dialogues to bring their ideas to life in 2-3 minute ads.

Some of the standout products and teams included Chamatkari Churan, Chikna Charm, Glow X, Sensation, Baal Vardaan, Preeto Virus, Venom Venture, and Tehlka Ltd. The humorous take on product advertising was much appreciated by the audience, adding an element of fun to the learning process.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participating students for their outstanding performances. The awards were presented by Dr Dhingra, Dr Mogla, and Ms Garima Arora, Dean of the MAC Forum.

The final day of the Ad Mad Show saw intense competition, with judges Dr Manisha, Dr Vandana, and Mr Amandeep evaluating the performances. In the Teaser Competition, the team Glow X (BBA Sem 3) clinched the first position. For the publicity campaign, Tehlka Ltd (BCom Sem 1 Sec A), Chikna Charm (BBA Sem 1), and Chamatkari Churan (BCom Sem 3 Sec A) secured the top three positions. Tehlka Ltd (BCom Sem 1 Sec A) and Baal Vardaan (BCom Sem 3 Sec B) were awarded consolation prizes.
