Mrs. Aarti Gupta is a homemaker. She is a Nursery grade teacher by training. Her husband Mr. Munish Kumar is a businessman. They are proud parents of Gishika Gupta, Bachelor of Computer Applications, first year student at the Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) Jalandhar. In an exclusive interview, she shares her reasons for choosing ACFA, her daughter’s progress and her perception about the online classes. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose ACFA over other universities for your child’s admission?

In Jalandhar, we asked everyone and we came to know that ACFA is the best university there. So, basically we got some great reviews about the university. Everyone told us that the scholastic development of a student is done very well at ACFA. We also liked ACFA more than other universities we had thought about.

Please tell us a bit about your child and take us through her progress at ACFA?

She liked Computer Science a lot from the very beginning. She is also keenly interested in music. She likes to sing. She also simultaneously takes her music classes along with her studies. She likes the western style of singing.

She is performing very well at her college. She has topped the first semester. The teachers notified her on the result day that her marks were the highest in her class. She has always been good at studies since childhood. She likes to study though there are no fixed hours of study. It depends on the work to be done. If there is an exam or an assignment then she can study even upto ten hours.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

My daughter tells me that all the teachers are very nice and they teach really well. She has a good equation with all her teachers. The studious kids find the teachers nice while the ones who don’t study, don’t find the teachers nice (laughs). She praises Professor Shweta Kakkar and Professor Jagmohan a lot.  The classes take place regularly. Gishika attends all the classes and finds everything very nice.

What is the best thing about ACFA?

The teachers take care of the progress of the students. I would say, so far the best thing is that ACFA has delivered in accordance with the great feedback we received about the college.

What is your perception about the online classes?

The teachers are teaching well in the online classes. The classes also take place regularly. It depends on the students actually, they must study and attend the classes only then are the classes fruitful.
