As part of the ongoing initiatives by the Interact Club, students from Apeejay School in Model Town, Jalandhar visited the Khosla School of the Deaf, embracing this month’s theme of empathy. This enriching visit provided an invaluable learning experience for all participants.
During the visit, the students engaged in various activities designed to foster understanding and connection. They participated in a painting session alongside the children from the Khosla School, creating a vibrant and collaborative artwork that reflected their shared creativity and joy. This activity was not just about art, but also about breaking down communication barriers and building bridges of friendship.

One of the most impactful aspects of the visit was the opportunity for the Apeejay students to learn basic sign language. This experience was enlightening, as it gave them a new way to communicate and express empathy towards their new friends. The children from the Khosla School were patient teachers, demonstrating that communication transcends spoken words. The officiating Principal, Ms. Priyanka Grover, congratulated the students for empathetically connecting with the specially abled students and wished them well for their future actions.

This visit left a lasting impression on the students as they returned with a deeper understanding of empathy, realizing that it involves more than just feeling for others—it means actively engaging, learning, and connecting. The experience at the Khosla School of the Deaf was a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusivity and the strength of human connection.
Through this visit, the Interact Club has once again highlighted the significance of empathy in our lives. The students’ interactions and shared experiences have sown the seeds of compassion and understanding, fostering a more inclusive and empathetic community.
