A nourishing step toward a healthier tomorrow

Events like Poshan Pakhwada are vital in shaping young minds toward healthier lifestyles. By instilling awareness of nutrition, traditional foods, and physical well-being early on, schools become crucial partners in building a stronger, healthier future generation.

Apeejay School, Kharghar, proudly celebrated the 7th edition of Poshan Pakhwada 2025, in sync with the Ministry of Women and Child Development’s Poshan Abhiyaan. Spanning from April 8 to 25, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all grades, from Pre-Primary to Class XII. The initiative aimed to cultivate healthy eating habits, spread awareness about nutrition, and encourage fitness as a way of life.

The youngest learners in Pre-primary embraced the theme “Healthy is Happy!” through delightful activities like Sprouts Day, Fruits Party, Vegetable Sandwich Day, and Lemonade Day. Wearing handmade fruit and vegetable crowns, the little ones paraded joyfully, sharing simple yet impactful messages on nutrition.

Students of Classes I and II dived into hands-on activities like preparing fruit-vegetable popsicles, sprout salads, and healthy sandwiches. Crown-making with nutrition themes added a creative touch, making learning both fun and educational.

Classes III to V started the week with an inter-class football match, emphasising the importance of physical fitness. Artistic expression took centrestage with fruit basket-making and vegetable printing. A workshop on balanced diets and a display of traditional foods further deepened their understanding of healthy eating.

For Classes VI to VIII, a workshop led by a Biology teacher shed light on the essentials of nutrition, dangers of junk food, and the role of physical activity and sleep. A lively quiz session ensured student engagement and retention of the key learnings.

Classes IX and X voiced their creativity through a poster and slogan-making competition based on the theme “Eat Right, Stay Bright!” They promoted messages around healthy tiffins, the benefits of Shree Anna, and avoiding processed foods. Selected entries adorned school boards, spreading awareness beyond the classroom.

Senior students of Classes XI and XII participated in a motivational talk titled “Fuel Your Future: Embrace Health Today.” The session inspired them to adopt balanced nutrition, traditional food practices, and lifestyle changes to ensure long-term well-being.

The event concluded with the powerful message: “To nurture a nation, we must first nourish its children – for in health lies the true wealth of life.” Poshan Pakhwada 2025 was not merely a celebration but a step toward instilling a lifelong culture of wellness in young minds.
