Sue and her younger brother Eddie are sightseeing in London when they visit the infamous Terror Tower—a place with a dark history of executions and betrayal. But something feels off. They get separated from their tour group, strange people begin following them, and soon, they can’t even remember who they are. When a hooded man with glowing eyes comes for them, it’s clear: this isn’t just a spooky tour. The past is pulling them in—and it wants them trapped forever.
Sue is clever, protective, and intuitive—qualities that shine as she tries to piece together what’s happening. Eddie’s mix of fear and comic relief adds depth to their bond. The looming presence of the hooded man is a perfect villain: silent, relentless, and terrifying. The mysterious magician, Morgred, adds another layer to the puzzle with motives that keep you guessing.
Unlike many Goosebumps books, this one dives into historical horror, and it works brilliantly. The eerie setting of a medieval tower, combined with memory loss and time travel, raises the stakes. It’s more intense, more psychological, and unfolds like a movie—full of narrow escapes, hidden truths, and a race against time. The suspense never lets up.
A Night in Terror Tower is one of R.L. Stine’s most atmospheric and thrilling books. It combines fantasy and fear with a clever twist that surprises readers of all ages. A haunting story that proves sometimes the scariest places aren’t haunted by ghosts—but by your own forgotten past.
