In a touching display of appreciation and kindness, the students of Class VI-B at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, participated in a special activity on Gratefulness, organised under the thoughtful guidance of School Counsellor, Ms Ria Sharma. The session aimed to help students reflect on the value of expressing gratitude and acknowledging the positive impact others have on their lives.
The activity began with a brief conversation on why gratitude matters, how simple words of appreciation can strengthen relationships, cultivate empathy, and create a happier school environment. Ms Sharma encouraged the students to think deeply about the teachers who inspire them every day and the qualities that make those teachers special.
What followed was a beautiful burst of emotion and sincerity. Students penned heartfelt letters to their favourite teachers, pouring their thoughts onto paper with honesty and affection. Several wrote about moments when their teachers supported them, motivated them, or simply made them feel seen and valued. These handwritten letters reflected not only admiration but also an evolving understanding among students of what it means to appreciate someone meaningfully.

The highlight of the activity came when each student personally delivered their letter to the respective teacher. The school corridors transformed into spaces of warm exchanges, as teachers received the notes with surprise, joy, and genuine emotion. Smiles, gratitude, and even a few happy tears marked the occasion, creating memories the students will cherish.
The exercise beautifully reinforced an important lesson: gratitude is a powerful, two-way gift. While it uplifts the person receiving it, it also nurtures positivity and emotional growth in the one expressing it. The activity concluded with reflections from students who shared how writing these letters made them feel lighter, happier, and more connected to their teachers.
This meaningful initiative once again highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing not just young minds but also compassionate hearts.
