‘A large collection of books at the school library helps in developing reading habit’

Vandana Gupta is a homemaker and her husband, Sushil Kumar Gupta, is a CA by profession. They are proud parents of Puneet Gupta enrolled in Class 9 at Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad. In an interview, Mrs. Gupta shares how teachers encourage her son to participate in more competitions and be the best version of himself. Read edited excerpts:

What made you think Apeejay Svran Global School, would be the right choice for your son?

During Puneet’s admission, we were searching for a school that has an expert teaching staff, promotes both curricular and co-curricular activities, provides opportunities to compete on a global level such as Olympiads, as well as encourages the creativity of a child. We also wanted a school that has a futuristic vision for the education and development of students. We received very good feedback about Apeejay Svran Global from our friends. After the interview process and interaction with teachers and the principal, we were convinced that Apeejay is the best school for Puneet as it was satisfying all our needs and intentions.

Do you personally interact with the faculty on a regular basis?

Yes, we do attend every parent’s teacher meeting, and also interact with school teachers on a regular basis. Teachers are very supportive and help the kids in improving their skills. They also give appropriate advice regarding Puneet’s development.

Tell us what you think about the way teachers conduct classes.

We can see Puneet improving in every class and can imagine the hard work teachers are putting in during the classes. Teachers are making lots of efforts to clarify the doubts of each student to ensure that every topic is well understood by the students. They try to make the classes as interactive as possible, and we have witnessed it during the online classes.

Have you noticed any particular improvement in your child?

We can see overall growth in Puneet as a student. We feel really happy to mention that Puneet has got multiple opportunities to represent Apeejay Svran Global School in inter-school competitions. Also, he is currently the discipline-in-charge of his class. He has also won several awards in the Olympiads during his years at the school.

How well does the school ensure children’s safety and security?

We have seen the school management work during fests, functions and school excursion trips, etc., where they cautiously take care of children. Also, the disposal of children after school hours is done in an orderly manner. The work done by each staff of school management toward safety and security is really commendable.

How are teachers helping students on a personal level?

Teachers are always ready to help Puneet and solve his doubts even if they are not in the syllabus. They always encourage him to participate in more competitions and be the best version of himself.

How is School helping to enhance the speaking skills of your son?

I have observed that every year – Apeejay conducts various competitions like story-telling, recitation, extempore, etc., and encourages students to participate in them. The school encourages conversing in English and has provided great English textbooks and novels, which have really improved Puneet’s speaking skills. The school’s library has a large collection of books which have proved to be a great step in the improvement of his knowledge and development of his reading habit.
