An air of excitement and joy filled the campus of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, recently, as the students of Nursery to Class II embarked on an eagerly awaited educational excursion to the Doll Museum and the National Rail Museum during the morning hours. The young learners, accompanied by their teachers, set off with bright smiles, curious minds, and an eagerness to explore and learn beyond the classroom.

The first stop of the day was the Doll Museum, a place that never fails to enchant young visitors. The children were amazed to see the fascinating collection of dolls from across the globe, each dressed in unique and colourful traditional attire. From Japan’s delicate kimonos to India’s vibrant regional costumes, the display opened a window to the world’s cultural diversity. Teachers engaged students in lively conversations about different countries and their traditions, turning the experience into an interactive cultural learning session. The children were particularly fascinated by the intricate detailing and artistry of the dolls, which reflected the beauty and craftsmanship of various nations.

The adventure continued at the National Rail Museum, where curiosity turned into excitement as students witnessed the grand display of vintage locomotives, coaches, and historical exhibits that traced the evolution of Indian Railways. The young explorers eagerly observed the massive engines and models, learning how trains have changed over the years, from steam engines to modern electric trains. The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the toy train ride, where children’s laughter echoed across the tracks. Their faces lit up with joy as they experienced the thrill of the ride, waving enthusiastically to their friends and teachers.

After a morning full of exploration and discovery, the students relished a delicious hot lunch, which added to their delight. The meal was followed by moments of camaraderie and laughter as they shared their favourite parts of the trip.

The excursion successfully blended learning with fun, providing students with an opportunity to experience classroom concepts in a real-world setting. It strengthened their social skills, enhanced their cultural awareness, and nurtured a sense of curiosity and observation.

The day concluded with happy hearts and treasured memories. The educational trip to the Doll Museum and Rail Museum truly reflected Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park’s commitment to holistic learning, where education extends beyond books to embrace exploration, joy, and lifelong curiosity.
