The Interact Club of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Delhi Premier, organised a Blood Donation Camp on October 4, 2025. The event opened at 9 am with registration and basic health checks, including haemoglobin and blood pressure tests. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with a sense of shared purpose.
Students played a vital role in coordinating the camp. Their enthusiasm brought energy to the day’s proceedings. One of the student volunteers shared that curating the drive was a rewarding experience and that good health and strong blood cells make donating blood a simple yet powerful way to help those in need. Donors in large numbers participated, reflecting the spirit of community that the school continues to nurture.
According to the Vice-principal, Ms Vandana Bansal, “The blood donation camp exemplified the school’s commitment to community welfare and humanitarian values. The collection of 27 units of blood stands as a testament to this spirit and can prove to be a lifesaver for many in need. The enthusiastic participation of parents, staff, and community members reflected a strong sense of social responsibility. Such initiatives nurture in our students the values of empathy, service, and civic engagement that lie at the heart of holistic education at Apeejay School.”
Ms Shruti Pandey, In-charge, Interact Club of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, said, “The Interact Club of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, along with the Rotary Club of Delhi Premier, proved that every drop counts, as each donation held the power to save a life and inspire humanity. It was heartening to see that so many came forward for this noble cause.”

Donors who inspire
The event attracted parents, teachers, and staff members who volunteered selflessly. Among them was Mr Bhupender, father of Anmol from class V, who donates blood twice a year on his birthday and anniversary. “This act not only benefits others but also contributes to one’s well-being,” he said.
Another proud parent, Mrs Sarita Nautiyal, mother of Lavika and Aryak from XI, expressed gratitude to the school for encouraging such meaningful initiatives. “Participating in this camp was my way of teaching the children the value of social responsibility.”
Faculty members also participated wholeheartedly. Ms Upasna Chopra, PGT Biology (HoD Science) at the school, along with her student, joined the donors. She used the occasion to clarify common misconceptions about blood donation. “Healthy individuals who eat well and maintain good fitness can safely donate blood without any adverse effects,” she opined.
For some, this was a new and transformative experience. Bhavika, a first-time donor from PYP, described the cause as deeply meaningful. She said the process made her realise how small acts can have lifesaving effects. Her reflection echoed the larger message of the day, that giving blood is not just a donation; it is an act of hope.

A meaningful success
The camp’s success lay not just in the number of units collected but in the awareness it created. The need for blood during emergencies and accidents was discussed throughout the event, underscoring why such drives are crucial.
Every donor received a certificate and a donor card as a token of appreciation. Photographs captured the moments of kindness and solidarity that defined the event.
Through this initiative, the Interact Club reaffirmed its dedication to serving the community and fostering a spirit of compassion among students. The school expressed sincere gratitude to every donor, volunteer, and organiser whose collective effort made the day both meaningful and memorable. In essence, the event reflected what a united school community can achieve when it comes together for a purpose as profoundly human as saving lives.
