The event was graced by the Chief Guest Mr Rajesh Nagar, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Government of Haryana. The esteemed guest was warmly welcomed by the school’s Principal, Ms Snehlata Krishnan, and senior staff members. In a symbolic gesture of harmony with nature, Mr Nagar was presented with a sapling, reflecting Apeejay’s commitment to sustainable values and environmental responsibility.

To officially commence the festivities, the Chief Guest joined the dignitaries in lighting the ceremonial lamp, a traditional Indian custom symbolising the dispelling of ignorance and the embrace of wisdom and knowledge. Following this, a serene and soulful Vandana was sung, inviting blessings for the day’s events and evoking a sense of spirituality in the air.

The carnival’s opening act was a beautiful dance performance dedicated to Lord Ganesha, featuring students gracefully performing the Ganesha Vandana. The performance was filled with devotion and artistry, setting a sacred tone and infusing the audience with positive energy.

Speaking about the infectious vibe and energy around the carnival, Mrs Gunjan Sharma, Pre-primary In-charge expressed, “Just experienced the amazing Meraki, the carnival at Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad – it was an unequivocal success, offering a delightful experience for all age groups. The entertainment continued with a delightful fancy dress competition, featuring young participants dressed as Radha, Harry Potter, Spiderman, and other beloved characters. Each participant confidently embodied their roles, charming the audience with their costumes and performances.

One of the highlights of the event was the cultural showcase, where students exhibited India’s vibrant heritage. A traditional Rajasthani folk dance captivated the audience with colourful costumes and spirited moves, transporting everyone to the heart of Rajasthan. Another folk dance performance accompanied by dandiya was set to the song Radha Kaise Na Jale, celebrating the joyous festival spirit and traditional dance form.

The celebration of Indian classical arts continued with a Bharatnatyam performance by the talented student of class III. Their discipline, grace, and flawless movements earned loud applause and demonstrated their dedication to this ancient art form.

Adding a lively contemporary twist, a group of students took the stage with high-energy Bollywood songs, filling the audience with excitement and laughter as they showcased creative choreography and infectious enthusiasm.

Sharing about the joyful celebration, Mrs Supriya Malhotra whose daughter Sayesha studies in class VII shared, “The event was truly remarkable, with a wide array of competitions showcasing immense talent. On a concluding note, Aestha Thaespa, an alumnus of the school from the 2022 batch shared, “Returning as a guest, where I once used to perform myself, felt like I’m living my past again, walking back to the set up felt surreal. It’s a different feeling to watch new faces breathe the same kind of energy for the same art that shaped me. This tells me that times move on, but the magic of the place, and the art remains the same.”
