Enthusiasm and spiritual ardour filled the corridors of Apeejay School, Noida, as the Junior Wing of the school celebrated Krishna Janmashtami — the sacred birth anniversary of Lord Krishna — on August 23, 2024. Celebrating with great zeal all across India and the world over, this day is marked with celebrations on the eighth day of the bhadra month, according to the Hindu calendar.

The programme, at the school campus, saw students in colourful attire offering homage with soulful bhajans in respect of Lord Krishna. The never-ending morning was further hyped with an oral interaction and an illustrative video show that depicted the childhood incidents of Lord Krishna and his great teachings. The narration was not only an embellishment in the festive air but also it depicts to what extent the pupils were able to learn the teachings and ideas spread by Krishna and about their present status.

The highlight of the event was the vibrantly colourful dance performances by pre-Primary students. The colours seemed vibrant as young dancers weaved and danced stories of Lord Krishna, their dance reflecting their joy and pranks associated with the Lord. The audience was swept away to see the enthusiasm and high spirits of the young participants, which magnificently set the spirit of the event.

Ms Smriti Samuel, Primary In-charge, said that such celebrations were very important. She emphasised that such festivals were the bridges for the young generation into the rich tapestries of the culture of India and fostered pride and continuity in the wards.

One of the special features of the day included a special corner depicting different stages with the help of statues and artistic models, of the divine episodes of the early life of Lord Krishna. This was done to make the learning experience of the students complete and make them feel a part of the epic stories cherished with great relish and enthusiasm throughout the day.

A Day of Joyful Learning

This whole event entertained the students and taught them something at a deeper level about the spiritual and cultural dimensions of Janmashtami. The day at Apeejay School, Noida was about joyful learning in all dimensions with spiritual heritage taken up collectively, as the impression set deep in the minds and hearts of the young attendees.
