Recently, Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, observed Hindi Diwas with great energy and joy. The celebration brought together students, teachers, and guests in a lively programme that highlighted the richness of the Hindi language and its cultural importance. Students from Classes I to V participated with enthusiasm, making the event both engaging and memorable.
The programme began with heartfelt greetings from young students of Classes IV and V, who extended best wishes on Hindi Diwas. They reminded everyone of the historic day, September 14, 1949, when Hindi was adopted as India’s official language in the Constituent Assembly. The message was clear: Hindi is more than just a language; it is our identity and pride. Their words set the tone for the celebration and encouraged the audience to reflect on the significance of preserving linguistic heritage.
Special guests included Vice-principal Ms Neha Sharma and Primary School Coordinator Ms Sameeksha Bhatt, who were warmly welcomed by the students. Both were acknowledged for their constant guidance and support to the young learners. The gathering was reminded that adopting Hindi in daily life is a way to keep alive its cultural and historical value.

Cultural performances and student talent
The stage came alive with colourful performances. Students from the primary section showcased their skills through poems, songs, slogans, and dance. The energy and creativity of Classes I and II set the tone with cheerful recitations and a lively group performance, drawing warm applause from the audience.
A highlight of the day was the Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition. Judged by teachers Ms Mamta and Ms Sonali Saxena, the competition saw spirited participation across all grades. Students of Class III, including Addiyn, Pihun, and Anika, recited poems with confidence and grace. They also presented a piece inspired by the celebrated poet Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan, capturing the rhythm and beauty of his words. Their recitations left the audience with a sense of pride in the richness of Hindi literature.
As the programme moved forward, Enis, Daniel, and Lavya from Classes IV and V took the stage. Their performance combined soulful singing with expressive delivery, showing how music and verse come together to celebrate language. The trio’s effort was not only entertaining but also a reminder of how Hindi continues to inspire creativity among young learners.
Later, the baton of stage conduction was handed over to Ms Drishti, who kept the audience engaged with warmth and poise. She encouraged everyone to reflect on the cultural value of Hindi and reminded the gathering that celebrating the language is also about practising it with pride in everyday life.

As the programme drew to a close, heartfelt thanks were extended to the organisers, teachers, and participants. Special appreciation was given to the young learners, whose poems, songs, and dances made the celebration unforgettable. Guests were also thanked for their encouragement and presence, which added warmth to the occasion.
The event concluded with a collective promise to keep Hindi alive in daily life and to celebrate it not only on Hindi Diwas but throughout the year, recognising it as a true symbol of India’s heritage and identity.
