Experiential learning plays a vital role in shaping young minds, allowing students to connect classroom knowledge with real-life situations. Keeping this philosophy at the forefront, Apeejay School, Kharghar, organised an exciting educational picnic to KidZania for the students of Classes IV and V. The outing blended fun with purposeful learning, offering children an immersive environment where imagination met practical exposure.

A total of 234 enthusiastic students stepped into the vibrant, child-sized city of KidZania, where they explored a variety of professions through role-play activities. The unique setup enabled them to experience the responsibilities of real-world jobs while learning essential life skills. From managing a petrol pump and operating a salon to working at a dubbing centre, students eagerly embraced each task with confidence and curiosity.

The young learners donned the uniforms of firefighters, police officers, dentists, and chefs, gaining firsthand knowledge of different occupations. They crafted delicious treats such as chocos, doughnuts, and pizzas, which sparked creativity and enhanced their decision-making abilities. Each activity encouraged teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, helping them grow socially and emotionally.

A key highlight of the visit was the KidZania economy, where students earned and spent Kidzos, the in-house currency. This innovative system introduced them to the basics of financial literacy, teaching them the value of money management and budgeting in an engaging way. At the YES Bank setup, they also learnt about banking procedures, debit card usage, and the importance of savings, adding a practical dimension to their understanding of finance.

Throughout the day, laughter and excitement filled the air as students collaborated with peers, discovered new interests, and stepped outside their comfort zones. The carefully designed activities nurtured independence, responsibility, and self-confidence, making learning both meaningful and memorable.

By the end of the trip, the children returned home with bright smiles, enriched experiences, and countless stories to share. The picnic proved to be an enriching blend of education and enjoyment, leaving a lasting impression on every participant.

Such outings nurture curiosity, build life skills, encourage teamwork, and provide practical exposure, helping students grow into confident, independent learners while connecting classroom lessons with real-world experiences.
