A day filled with thrill, adventure and swotting

Students from Classes III to XI of Apeejay School, Saket, set out on an exhilarating adventure to Rockport Camp in Gurugram recently. The much-anticipated trip promised a day filled with adventure, learning, and teamwork, providing students with a refreshing break from their academic routine.

The day began with eager students gathering at school, buzzing with excitement as they boarded their buses, accompanied by their teachers. The journey to camp was filled with laughter and enthusiastic discussions about the activities ahead. Upon arrival, students were greeted by the camp instructors, who briefed them about the day’s itinerary and safety guidelines.

The adventure commenced with warm-up exercises, preparing students for the physically engaging activities lined up for the day. They then took on a series of thrilling challenges, starting with wall climbing, which tested their strength and perseverance. The zip-lining activity was a major highlight, as students soared across the camp, overcoming their fears and experiencing an adrenaline rush. The bamboo bridge crossing and commando net challenged their balance and coordination, fostering teamwork and determination.

In addition to adventure sports, the students got a taste of creativity and traditional craftsmanship through pottery sessions. They enjoyed moulding clay and shaping their artistic creations, gaining insight into an age-old art form. Various fun games were also organised, encouraging students to engage in friendly competition and bond with their peers.

A unique aspect of the camp was the exploration of a maize field, where students learnt about agriculture and navigated through nature’s green maze. They also encountered different types of bridges, each offering a distinct challenge that helped them build confidence and adaptability.

After a series of physically engaging activities, a delicious and nutritious lunch was served, allowing students to relax and recharge. Post-lunch, they eagerly resumed their adventures, making the most of every opportunity to learn, explore, and enjoy the outdoors.

As the day drew to a close, students gathered for a light snack before bidding farewell to Rockport Camp. Their faces beamed with joy and a sense of accomplishment as they boarded their buses back to school. The experience not only provided them with an adventurous outing but also strengthened their resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
