A day dedicated to mull over importance of Hindi literature 

Inter-school competition organised at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida aimed at maximising importance of Hindi language

Recently, Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, organised an Inter-school competition named Manthan. The aim was to promote Hindi language and culture among students and the general public. The event witnessed participation from several schools across Noida and Greater Noida, showcasing the students’ talents.

The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the esteemed Principal of Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, Sarita Pandey, in the presence of the Chief Guest, distinguished poet and writer Dr Uma Jolly Sareen, and the Sahitya Akademi Award-winning author Dr Yashuraj Bhattarai. The programme began with a traditional invocation to Goddess Saraswati by the students, setting a reverent tone for the proceedings.

As part of the event, the guests were honoured with shawls and books as tokens of respect. The Inter-school competitions, organised for students from classes III to VIII, then commenced.

In the Hasya Kavi Sammelan (Humorous Poetry Competition) for class III, Avashit Mohan of Apeejay International School, Greater Noida secured the first position, Navika Bhatnagar of Laureate International School took the second, and Anaya from DPS Knowledge Park won third place.

In the competition focused on Indian culture and heritage for class IV, Arya Sachdeva from Father Agnel School, Greater Noida won first place, Ashish from Apeejay International School, Greater Noida came second, and Vama Kesher from Pacific World School stood third.

For class V, in the poetry recitation competition themed Nature and Imagination, Gaurika Singh from DPS Knowledge Park claimed the top spot. Antriksh Junarkar from JP Public School and Vaishnavi Sharma from Ramish International School shared the third position.

The Veer Bhogya Vasundhara competition, centred around the valour of warriors, saw Avduta Mittal win first place, followed by Ayush Deep Singh in second and Atharv Vats in third for class VI.

In the class VII extempore speech competition focusing on language skills, Gaurika Singh won first place, Vishal Saxena took second, and Kasak Bhatnagar secured third place.

For class VIII, the Kavya Sangoshthi (Poetry Symposium) focused on the works of prominent literary figures and poets. Ekansh Kankani secured the first position, Sanvi Tripathi came second, and Ishan Rahman took third.

In addition to these, a Sanskrit competition was also organised on the occasion of Sanskrit Week, focusing on the theme Karmanye Vadhikaraste – Teachings of Lord Krishna to Arjun from The Bhagavad Gita. In this competition for class VIII, Angel Kamothi and Ira Mishra from Apeejay International School, Greater Noida secured first place, Vishakha Tripathi and Priyanshi Sharma from Vishwa Bharati Public School, Noida came second, and Aditi Dixit and Tanmay Bansal from Pragyan School, Greater Noida won third place.

During the closing ceremony, the judges praised the students for their exceptional performance and encouraged them to continue learning and preserving the Hindi language.
