In a heart-warming effort to support birds during the sweltering summer, Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, recently organised a Bird Bath Donation Activity. The initiative was driven by a noble aim — to offer respite to urban avian life battling the intense heat, and more importantly, to instil in young students a deep sense of empathy and care for their environment.
The school’s students wholeheartedly embraced the activity, reflecting not just awareness but a true sense of responsibility. With great enthusiasm, they placed bird baths across the school gardens, nearby parks, and even in their residential colonies. These small yet thoughtful installations are expected to offer clean drinking water to birds, making a big difference in their survival during the extreme heat.

Students also took pledges to ensure the maintenance of these bird baths. They promised to clean and refill them regularly, turning a one-day initiative into a long-term commitment to nature. This sense of ownership gave the students a deeper understanding of the importance of consistent care in sustaining wildlife.
The school Principal shared thoughts on the initiative. This activity not only helps birds survive the harsh summer but also instils empathy and responsibility in young minds. These words echoed the broader vision of the school, which is to shape students into environmentally conscious citizens who are aware of the impact of their actions on the world around them.

The event was not merely a donation drive — it was a lesson in kindness, accountability, and ecological balance. It demonstrated that even simple actions, when taken collectively, can contribute to the betterment of the ecosystem.
Building a culture of kindness
Through this initiative, the school reinforced the message that education is not limited to textbooks and classrooms. It lies in experiences that shape character. Activities like the Bird Bath Donation are a testament to Apeejay School’s commitment to holistic learning, where care for the planet is as important as academic excellence.

The school’s proactive approach once again sets a benchmark for value-based education, encouraging young minds to lead with compassion and responsibility — qualities that the world desperately needs today.
