The man shivered in the cold and gave a blank look, pulling his thin torn coat tight around himself. The coat seemed well-equipped to fight against the biting wind howled through the empty streets. A dog sitting beside him also shivered in the cold. Snowflakes clung to the man’s unkempt beard, melting slowly, leaving trails of icy moisture on his weathered face. It was Christmas Eve and not the usual rush on the streets.
A lady walking down the streets and heading towards him with a bag. The man thought that she’d pass by without giving anything but to his surprise, the lady was on the streets giving food and warm clothes to the poor. As she came and handed him food and clothes she wished the man Merry Christmas. She then went by giving others the same. The man wore the new coat he just got and gave the torn coat to the dog and also some mufflers to the dog. The smell of hot, freshly cooked sandwiches filled the aroma when he opened the food packet. He shared half of the sandwich with the dog and the rest he helped himself. This is how the poor man spent his Christmas.
