Recently, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, hosted a meaningful celebration to mark International Earth Day, reinforcing the message: One Earth, One Chance – Let’s Not Waste It. The event aimed to spread awareness about environmental conservation, tree plantation, and the importance of protecting our planet.
Held under the visionary leadership of the revered Dr Stya Paul, Founder-Chairman, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, and Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group; Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University and Chairman, Apeejay Education, the event reflected their unwavering commitment to instilling values of sustainability among young learners.
A vibrant assembly
The celebration began with a special morning assembly, where students of Class VII-B enthusiastically participated under the guidance of class In-charge Ms Maninder Kaur. The students presented thought-provoking speeches, heartfelt poems, and visually striking posters—all echoing the need to preserve and nurture Mother Earth. These presentations not only showcased the students’ creativity but also their deep understanding of environmental issues.

The atmosphere turned soulful as students delivered a thematic dance performance capturing the essence of nature’s beauty and its urgent cry for care. The highlight, however, was a melodious guitar recital by a talented student. The soothing notes added an emotional depth to the event and left a lasting impression on the audience.
In another moving moment, students came together to sing group songs dedicated to Earth’s magnificence. These performances beautifully merged art and awareness.
A pledge to protect
One of the most impactful moments was when all students took a solemn pledge to protect the environment. With hands on hearts, they promised to reduce waste, plant trees, and be mindful citizens who care for the planet.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Priyanka Grover, Officiating Principal, lauded the efforts of the students and urged them to continue walking on the path of environmental stewardship. She drew attention to the selfless love of Mother Earth, and like she protects us, we must now step up and protect her.
She further encouraged students and staff to actively participate in tree plantation drives and spread awareness within their communities.

The green way forward
This celebration at Apeejay School, Model Town, was not just an event — it was a call to action. By involving students creatively and emotionally, the school succeeded in reminding everyone that our Earth needs us now more than ever.
As the young environmentalists dispersed with renewed hope, one thing was clear: The seeds of change had been planted — and they are sure to grow.
