Hard work, passion, and grit – these 3 words define the Press Conference conducted by the students of Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), Dwarka. Those from across domains such as Corporate Communication and Event Management; and Advertising & Marketing Communication also actively participated in the event.

Mr Pradip Bagchi from the Times of India, Ms Pushpa Nair, former Director, Perfect Relations, and Prof. Shweta Suman from Lady Irwin College, Delhi University were the esteemed guests of the day. Prof. Sajal Mukherjee, Director, AIMC also graced the occasion.
The conference was the semi-final before the final showcase of the yearly live project by students. Our team – OG Sphere was the first to begin the conference. Ishika Jaiswal, Ravi Kumar Labh, and Lakshita Kandpal were the representatives of it. The agenda was a hypothetical product launch for selected brands. So, we introduced the new product and presented the Consumer Behavior Research, Communication Strategies, and Integrated Marketing Communications campaigns designed to spread awareness about the same.
Ishika Jaiswal, the acting Vice President of the brand team OG Sphere welcomed everyone to the conference. Followed by that, Lakshita Kandpal, acting Head of Marketing wished everyone a very happy National Public Relations Day and expressed her gratitude towards getting the opportunity to conduct the big event.

She then shared a presentation covering the technical aspects of our pitch. Further, the presentation was concluded by Ravi Kumar Labh, acting Head of Corporate Communications. He covered all the creative themes of the launch and spoke about the various campaigns involved in it. After this, was the Q&A session. Many questions were asked by the guests and the students of the other teams.
Right from the setup to finalising the agenda of the day, student journalists left no stone unturned to make the event a big success. And so, it felt nothing less than a real-time press conference. Mr Pradip Bagchi, who has been to numerous press conferences by brands and celebrities, also shared with us his valuable insights and feedback. Alongside, Ms Pushpa Nair, guided us on how we can organise more such conferences in the industry.
The learnings from the conference will always help me in ways more than one. This event was a heavy information-packed practical exposure, especially for the students who aspire to pursue a career in the Public Relations industry. For those eyeing other communication-based fields, the session helped understand how to grow into better professionals and ace the corporate world.
