‘I often interact with the teachers and it’s always been a fruitful experience’

Indira Verma is a Senior Marketing Executive, and her husband J P Sharma is a Chief Pharmacist. They are proud parents of Vanya Sharma enrolled in Class 6 at Apeejay School, Noida. In an interview, Mrs. Sharma shares how teachers create a positive and healthy environment for young learners during classes. Read edited excerpts:

What made you think Apeejay School, Noida, would be the right choice for your child?

Like every parent, we were looking for the best school for Vanya. We got positive feedback about the school from one of its alumni, who also happened to be our family friend. We then researched about the school on the internet and got good reviews for its competency and credibility.

Do you personally interact with the faculty on a regular basis?

I often interact with the teachers and it has always been a fruitful experience. The faculty provides detailed feedback on my child. They discuss Vanya’s progress and put in all their efforts for her holistic growth. I am always satisfied after interacting with the teachers.

Tell us what you think about the way teachers conduct classes.

Teachers are very enthusiastic about their subject, and motivate students to learn interesting parts about it. They create a positive and healthy environment for the children during classes. Vanya’s class teacher, Varun sir, has a unique style of teaching Sanskrit and Hindi subjects. Sanskrit is a new language for Vanya, but Varun sir’s innovative way of teaching helps her to have a clear concept. Due to his extreme efforts, Vanya’s Hindi has also improved. He always makes children understand moral values.

How has her learning progress been?

Apeejay School, Noida believes in holistic growth and education. I can say Vanya is a versatile child in all aspects, and with the support and guidance of her teachers she will grow further. She bagged 1st prize in Inter School Sculpture Competition and other such competitions. Vanya’s sculpture teacher, Nandita ma’am, helped her a lot for the competition. The teachers treat each child equally.

How well does the school ensure children’s safety and security?

Every parent is concerned about their child’s safety. I think the school fulfills all parameters for safety. The school holds classes of Awakened Citizen Programme (ACP), in which they educate children about their safety. So we can say that our children are in safe hands.

Are you working, if yes? Then how Apeejay is helping working parents?

Yes, I am a working mother. Through Moodle and class official groups, I get all the updates about Vanya’s learning. As Annual exams are around the corner, all subject teachers give assignments and worksheets for revision. I must appreciate Vanya’s science teacher Mukta ma’am for her way of teaching. She made students take revision tests and discussed worksheets to help them with the exams. So, Science is certainly done.
