Please tell us about yourself.

I love reading books. Literary classics are my go-to. Some of my favourite authors are Charlotte Brontë, Jane Austen and Louisa May Alcott. Apart from this, writing is my secondary passion.

Why do you have a liking for classics?

The setting, perspectives, imagery, words, scenes in it, interest me. Off late, I have also watched a few film adaptations such as ‘Persuasion – a book by Jane Austen. I found it to be great! Surely, Austen was quite ahead of her time. It remains debatable if one can call her a feminist.

Are you a feminist? What is the first feminist text you read?

Yes. Initially, it all began with some poems but till date, ‘All Still I Rise’ by the renowned American memoirist Maya Angelou is one of my top picks.

Tell us more about your writing.

I published my first article, ‘Philosophy – The language of life’ at Apeejay Newsroom. I have written many such and mostly these are based on journalism. Even for my poems, the themes vary from whatever comes to my mind.

What inspired you to pen it down?

I started learning more about Philosophy a while ago. I was quite moved by it. Theories of Plato and Aristotle fuel my curiosity.

The last book you read?

I am re-reading ‘Little Women’. Honestly, it is my comfort book. I know all the characters from it. Theodore ‘Laurie’ Laurence is my favourite character. He is a good listener and showcases loyalty in relationships.

Any tips you would like to share with your schoolmates?

Never hold back your thoughts. It may have the power to impact someone’s life, so continue sharing them.
