The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced an Integrated Payment System (IPS) to streamline and digitise payments related to practical examinations for the 2026 academic session. In a notification issued recently, the Board announced that the new system will facilitate payments to schools, observers, and external examiners more efficiently and transparently.

The IPS has been developed in accordance with revised rates for remuneration, conveyance, and other expenses associated with practical exams, ensuring uniformity and timely disbursal of funds. The portal integrates multiple modules designed to handle exam-related payment processes seamlessly. Schools have been instructed to upload and freeze all relevant data within the stipulated timeline to enable smooth processing of payments. CBSE officials have also emphasised the importance of verifying bank account details before final submission to avoid transaction failures or delays.

As per the schedule released by the Board, schools can submit and freeze their data between March 17 and March 31, 2026. The disbursement of payments is set to begin on March 23, 2026, onwards. In cases where payments are unsuccessful, a refreezing window will be available from April 1 to April 15, 2026, allowing institutions to correct discrepancies. Subsequent payment releases for such cases will commence from April 6, 2026.

The portal will remain active until April 16, after which it will be closed for the current exam cycle.

This initiative marks a significant step in CBSE’s ongoing efforts to digitise its administrative processes. By introducing the IPS, the Board aims to enhance operational efficiency, minimise delays, and bring greater transparency to financial transactions linked to practical exams, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
