Republic Day celebration at Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, was observed with a sense of pride and quiet reflection. The celebration brought together students and educators to revisit the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution and understand their relevance in everyday life.

The programme began with a thoughtful introduction by Navya Gupta of MYP 3 and Twisha Krishna of MYP 2. They spoke about the significance of Republic Day and its place in India’s democratic journey. Their address helped set a reflective tone for the event and encouraged students to think beyond the date and its ceremonies.

Adding warmth to the occasion, PYP 5 learners Daniel Ashraf Talat Latif, Enas Khater, Esther Taipu, and Aadya Hakki presented a soulful patriotic song. Their performance created an atmosphere of unity and respect, reminding the audience of the shared values that bind the nation together.

Learning through expression

Students then spoke about how Republic Day is celebrated across the country. They highlighted the importance of the Republic Day Parade and explained the role of the Chief Guest, helping younger learners understand the meaning behind these traditions.

This segment was followed by a lively dance performance by PYP 5 students Ayddin Wani, Pihu Narula, Vismaya Sreekanth, Aviraj Kapoor, Nayra Saini, and Shanaya Sharma. The performance combined energy with expression and added a visual dimension to the theme of national pride.

Recognising effort and achievement

The event also included the distribution of certificates and accolades. Students were acknowledged for their efforts and achievements, reinforcing the value of commitment and responsibility.

The celebration concluded with an inspiring address by the school Vice-Principal, Ms Neha Sharma. She spoke about the Constitution as a living document and encouraged students to uphold its values through their actions. The programme ended with the National Anthem, bringing the observance to a dignified close.

The celebration helped students connect constitutional values with real life. It reinforced the idea that being a responsible citizen begins with awareness, respect, and everyday choices.
