The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated the first phase of its annual free psycho-social counselling services for Class 10 and 12 students appearing for the 2026 Boards. The initiative, which began on January 6, aims to help students manage exam-related stress and maintain their emotional well-being during the crucial academic period.

The counselling services will continue until June 1, 2026, supporting students through their preparation phase and the examination cycle. As per the official schedule, the CBSE theory examinations for Classes 10 and 12 will commence on February 17, 2026.

To ensure round-the-clock support, CBSE has activated a 24×7 toll-free Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) helpline at 1800-11-8004. Through this helpline, students can access guidance in both Hindi and English. The IVRS offers practical tips on stress-free preparation, time and stress management, answers to frequently asked questions, and essential CBSE-related information.

In addition to the IVRS facility, tele-counselling services will be available on all working days from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. Students and parents can directly interact with a panel of 73 trained professionals, including school principals, counsellors, special educators from CBSE-affiliated schools, and qualified psychologists. Of these professionals, 61 are based in India, while 12 are located in countries like Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, ensuring a wide and diverse support network.

The Board has encouraged students and parents to actively utilise these services as part of its continued efforts to promote psycho-social well-being during the Class 10 and 12 Board cycle.
