The Viksit Bharat Discussion Forum of Apeejay Stya University organised an insightful expert session on the theme “Viksit Bharat Abhiyan@2047: An Educational Perspective”, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to aligning academic discourse with India’s long-term national development goals. The initiative is the brainchild of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire intellectually driven platforms focused on nation-building.

The session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ananda Pradhan, Head, School of Education, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students. The gathering reflected a vibrant academic environment committed to understanding India’s developmental roadmap through the lens of education. Distinguished faculty members including Prof. Sudhakar Ranjan, Dr. Manju Rani, Dr. Nisha Wadhawan, Dr. Neelam Mahala, Dr. Ritika, Dr. Minaxi, Dr. Neha Jain, Dr. Jyoti, Ms. Anu, and Ms. Manu Chaudhary were also present, contributing to the intellectual exchange.

In his engaging address, Prof. Pradhan elaborated on the long-term vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, highlighting its core pillars—youth empowerment, inclusive growth, women’s advancement, agricultural modernisation, technological innovation, and sustainable economic progress. He underlined how education serves as the most powerful catalyst in shaping a progressive, self-reliant, and globally competitive India.

A major focus of the session was the transformative role of the National Education Policy 2020. Prof. Pradhan discussed key reforms such as the 5+3+3+4 schooling structure, competency-based assessments, experiential learning, and digital integration. He also emphasised the expansion of national digital learning platforms like SWAYAM, DIKSHA, and e-Pathshala, along with the emerging role of artificial intelligence in personalised education. The strengthening of India’s research and innovation ecosystem through national initiatives such as the National Research Foundation (NRF), SPARC, IMPRINT, and STRIDE was also highlighted as a crucial step towards global academic leadership.

Another important aspect addressed during the session was India’s demographic advantage, with more than 65 per cent of the population below 35 years of age. The youth were described as the driving force behind innovation, problem-solving, entrepreneurship, and social transformation—key elements in realising the Viksit Bharat vision.

The session concluded with an enriching interactive discussion, where participants actively shared their perspectives and sought clarity on policy implications. A group photograph marked the end of the event. The programme was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Vijay Kumar, ensuring its smooth and impactful execution. Participants widely appreciated the session for its depth, relevance, and strong connection with national aspirations.
