Apeejay’s School of Education and School of Legal Education celebrated the 76th Constitution Day of India with great enthusiasm and intellectual fervour, bringing together students, faculty members and distinguished guests for a full day of academic, cultural and reflective activities focused on the core values of the Indian Constitution. The celebration served as a platform to promote constitutional awareness, democratic ideals and civic responsibility among the university community.
The programme commenced with the inauguration of a Book Exhibition on Constitutional Values, formally opened by the Chief Guest Prof. Ravinder Singh, accompanied by the Guest of Honour Advocate Akshay Goel and Registrar Dr Pardeep Kumar. The exhibition, coordinated by Dr Rajesh Yadav, showcased an impressive collection of books highlighting constitutional history, rights, duties and democratic governance. The visiting dignitaries appreciated the informative selection curated by the Central Library. A formal welcome of the guests with planters by the Registrar marked the start of the celebrations.

Setting a thoughtful tone for the day, students presented a powerful skit on Constitutional Rights and Child Awareness, directed by Komal Bhardwaj, a student of BALLB. The performance reflected strong social sensitivity and constitutional understanding, earning wide appreciation from the audience.
One of the major highlights of the celebration was the Students’ Panel Discussion on “Balancing Public Safety and Animal Rights: The Delhi Stray Dog Controversy”. Students from diverse disciplines participated, including Mithlesh Kumar, Komal Bhardwaj, Lianka Dadi, Sam Siryon, Archee, Keshvi Sinha and Kajal Shukla. The discussion was effectively moderated by Phillip J Dolo, a B.Tech Computer Science student. The panel showcased thoughtful arguments, well-researched viewpoints and high levels of preparedness, receiving praise from faculty members and subject experts.

This was followed by an Experts’ Panel Discussion on “The Working of the Indian Constitution: Between Ideals and Implementation”. Eminent scholars and legal experts including Prof. Ravindra Singh, Advocate Akshay Goel, Prof. (Dr.) Vyas M. S., Prof. (Dr.) Ananda Padhan and Prof. (Dr.) Amit Sinha shared critical insights on constitutional challenges, governance and strengthening democratic institutions. The session was moderated by Mr Adnan Irshad, and it stimulated meaningful interaction among students and faculty.
Creative competitions such as Skit Presentation and Poster-Making witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. The judges lauded the originality, confidence and constitutional awareness reflected in the presentations. Registrar Dr Pardeep Kumar announced the winners and led the gathering in taking the Preamble Pledge, reinforcing the spirit of constitutional commitment.

Student coordinators from different schools played a key role in managing the event, while Lavanya Khatri skillfully anchored the programme. Certificates were distributed to winners and organising committee members.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of guests and a formal Vote of Thanks by Dr Vijay Kumar, who appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students from multiple schools. He also expressed gratitude to the university leadership, including the Chancellor, Pro Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and Heads of various schools, for their continuous guidance and support in making the event a grand success.
