About 26.60 lakh students are expected to sit for the CBSE Class 10 Board exams in 2026. The CBSE Class 10 Maths board exam is for 100 marks: 80 for the theory paper and 20 for internal assessment.

The 80-mark written exam has 38 compulsory questions spread across five sections:

·         Section A: 18 MCQs + 2 Assertion-Reason (1 mark each)

·         Section B: 5 Very Short Answer (2 marks each)

·         Section C: 6 Short Answer (3 marks each)

·         Section D: 4 Long Answer (5 marks each)

·         Section E: 3 Case-study-based questions (each worth 4 marks, with sub-parts: 1 + 1 + 2)

Internal choice is given in some questions in Sections B, C & D, and in all sub-parts of Section E.

According to Mrs. Manisha Chaudhary, TGT Mathematics at Apeejay School, Faridabad, students are advised to study Mathematics for 2 to 2.5 hours daily. Each day, they should revise one chapter, including important formulas, identities, and theorems, and solve 2–3 basic questions for concept reinforcement.

Ms Chaudhary further shares a few preparation tips:

·         Maintain a small Formula Notebook and write down all important formulas, theorems, and identities. Revise it daily.

·         Give priority to important chapters like Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, Arithmetic Progressions, Quadratic Equations, Statistics & Probability, Circles, and Triangles.

·         Practice all NCERT and NCERT Exemplar solved examples and back-exercise questions thoroughly.

·         Solve Previous Years’ Question Papers and sample papers regularly. Attempt at least one daily to build speed, accuracy, and confidence. Solve sample papers within a time limit.

·         Solve problems with proper understanding and always recheck your final answer to avoid mistakes.

·         Draw neat and accurate diagrams wherever required, especially in Geometry and Applications of Trigonometry.

·         Set clear daily targets and consistently work on your weak areas. Maintain Notebook to track your mistakes and review your errors.
