In a remarkable step towards nurturing ethically grounded, socially responsible, and academically proficient individuals, Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vivekananda Institute of Values (VIVA), Gurugram—a unit of the Ramakrishna Mission. This collaboration reinforces ASU’s commitment to embedding human values in education and fostering holistic development in students.
The MoU was signed in the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Swami Shantatmananda Maharaj Ji, a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Mission and representative of the Vivekananda Institute of Values, along with Dr. Pardeep Kumar, Registrar of Apeejay Stya University. The agreement marks a significant milestone in ASU’s vision to integrate value-based learning into its academic and co-curricular fabric.
Under the dynamic leadership of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor of ASU, and Chairman of Apeejay Education, this initiative has been envisioned to strengthen the university’s humanistic approach to education. She was joined in this vision by Dr. Neha Berlia, Co-promoter of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Joint Secretary of Apeejay Education, and Pro-Chancellor of ASU, and Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, Vice Chancellor, ASU.

The Vivekananda Institute of Values (VIVA) is a sister concern of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, West Bengal, is dedicated to cultivating values among school and college learners, as well as professionals across various sectors. Its emphasis on Indian cultural roots and ethical living aligns perfectly with ASU’s ethos of ‘man-making education.’
Roles and Implementation:
As per the MoU, ASU will implement the course institutionally, nominate faculty for training, assign weekly sessions in the timetable, and ensure consistent student participation and impact monitoring. RKM VIVA will provide course content, a facilitation guide, and training through Faculty Development Programs (FDPs). Resource persons will regularly interact with students and faculty, both online and in person.
This collaboration marks a significant step in ASU’s journey towards nurturing the Head, Heart, and Hand of every learner and reaffirming its vision of preparing students not just for a career, but for life — with purpose, integrity, and service.
