In a landmark initiative that blended leadership development with democratic values, Apeejay School, Noida, Middle Wing, recently conducted the Prefectorial Board Selection for the academic session 2025–26. The comprehensive, multi-stage selection process for students of Classes 6 to 8 stood out not only for its scale but also for the student-centred approach it embraced, offering young learners a hands-on experience of leadership, responsibility, and electoral practices.
The journey began with the nomination phase, where enthusiastic students applied for prestigious posts like Head Boy, Head Girl, and House Captains. The detailed nomination forms allowed students to express their aspirations and vision for leadership. This was followed by the first round of interviews, where candidates were assessed by teachers based on parameters like communication skills, confidence, leadership potential, and a sense of responsibility.
The excitement escalated in the second phase, which introduced a new dimension to the selection process — formal campaigning. For the first time in the history of the Middle Wing, students took part in a structured campaign. Armed with hand-designed posters, compelling speeches, and creative slogans, candidates reached out to their peers, sharing their vision and values. The entire school atmosphere was abuzz with positivity and enthusiasm as corridors turned into vibrant spaces for democratic dialogue and student interaction.

To uphold fairness and transparency, the school employed a digital voting system, giving all students from Classes VI to VIII a chance to participate in the electoral process. The students cast their votes online after carefully evaluating candidate manifestos and campaign efforts. This marked the first-ever digital election for the Middle Wing, adding another layer of authenticity and responsibility to the process.
The final list of selected candidates will be based on a cumulative evaluation of interview scores and voting results. These candidates will now face a final round of interviews with the Principal before the Prefectorial Board is officially constituted.

The Prefectorial Board Selection 2025-26 was more than a leadership selection, it was an empowering exercise that instilled democratic values, boosted public speaking skills, encouraged ethical campaigning, and nurtured future decision-makers. Through this event, Apeejay School reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education and leadership development, preparing students not just for positions of responsibility but for roles as thoughtful, capable, and ethical citizens of tomorrow.
