Albert Einstein had once said: Creativity is intelligence having fun. Recently, the school came alive with colour, creativity, and collaboration during the highly anticipated Inter-house Soft Board Decoration Competition for Class IX. The corridors of the school were transformed into vibrant canvases, reflecting the theme India’s Rich Cultural Heritage. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all four houses — Gautam House, Kabir House, Nanak House, and Vivekananda House — in a spectacular display of talent, teamwork, and artistic expression.

The competition aimed to deepen students’ appreciation of India’s diverse cultural legacy, inviting them to explore traditions, festivals, art forms, and values. Each house was allotted a section of the class corridor’s soft boards to creatively present their interpretation of the theme within a set time frame. The result was a stunning transformation of the school corridors into visual storytelling spaces filled with heritage-inspired artwork and thoughtful messaging.

All the teams demonstrated exceptional coordination, time management, and dedication. From handcrafted artefacts and traditional motifs to vibrant calligraphy and creative slogans, the boards radiated artistic brilliance. The students made use of eco-friendly materials and hand-drawn illustrations, underscoring their commitment to both creativity and sustainability. Their efforts reflected not only aesthetic finesse but also deep cultural understanding and unity of purpose.

After careful evaluation by a panel of judges comprising faculty members from the Art, Social Science, and English departments, the results were announced. Gautam House and Kabir House emerged as joint winners, earning praise for their outstanding execution, cultural relevance, and creative clarity. Nanak House and Vivekananda House were also lauded for their originality and sincere participation.

The proud team members of Gautam House included Gitika, Rajat Dudi, Arpit Bansal, Ojas Sharma, and Kartik Mittal, while Kabir House was represented by Hiral Godara, Hemakshi, Prateek, Naman, and Simran. Their combined efforts were a testament to their collaborative spirit and artistic talent.

The event concluded with an inspiring address by the school’s Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, who congratulated all participants and emphasised the importance of such activities in nurturing leadership, teamwork, and an appreciation for Indian culture. He encouraged students to continue expressing themselves through the arts and to carry forward the values reflected in their work.

“I am delighted to see the creative brilliance and teamwork demonstrated by our Class IX students during the Inter-House Soft Board Decoration Competition. Congratulations to Gautam House and Kabir House for securing the first position, and heartfelt appreciation to Nanak and Vivekananda Houses for their enthusiastic participation. Your work beautifully reflected India’s cultural richness. These events are essential for holistic development. Keep striving, keep creating — your talents truly make Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri proud,” says Dr Vasishtha.

This memorable competition once again reaffirmed Apeejay School’s commitment to holistic education, where students grow not just academically, but also as creative, culturally aware individuals.
