Orientation programmes are not just introductions to a school; they reaffirm a parent’s decision to choose the best institution for their child’s education—a stepping stone toward a bright future. At Apeejay School, Saket, the Parent Orientation Programme went beyond answering queries and dispelling doubts; it mesmerised parents with the school’s vision of holistic education, talent nurturing, and building independent thinkers.
Apeejay School, Saket, recently hosted a vibrant and engaging Orientation Programme for Nursery and new admissions, marking the beginning of the academic year 2025-26. Designed to familiarise parents with the school’s ethos, the event emphasised growth, learning, and transformation.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising enlightenment and wisdom. The presence of distinguished guests, including Dr. V.S. Garg, Senior Education Advisor, Apeejay Education Society, and Dr. Shreya Singhal, Consultant at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, added depth to the event.

A mesmerising dance performance by the students showcased the school’s dedication to the arts, creativity, and self-expression. Principal Dr. Sujeet Eric Masih extended a green welcome to the esteemed guests, reinforcing the school’s commitment to sustainability. Addressing the gathering, he shared his vision for the upcoming academic year, emphasising the crucial partnership between parents and the school in ensuring holistic development. He highlighted Apeejay’s culture of excellence, with achievers excelling in academics, sports, and extracurriculars, whether in JEE rankings or MUN victories. Dr. Masih reiterated the school’s commitment to Founder-Chairman Dr. Stya Paul’s vision of nation-building through education.

Dr. V.S. Garg, in his inspiring address, reflected on his experiences with Dr. Stya Paul, urging parents to instill courage and determination in their children. He emphasised that no child should be compared to another, as each one is unique with individual strengths. His poignant reference to the film Taare Zameen Par resonated deeply with parents. “Patience is the pillar of parenting. Teach your children to embrace failure and challenges, and above all, love them unconditionally,” he advised.
Guest Speaker Dr. Shreya Singhal left an indelible impact with her powerful message: “Connect before you correct!” Her advice was met with a huge round of applause, as she elaborated, “We don’t need perfect parents. We need present parents. Listen actively to your child—a connected child is a secure child.” She also shared an insightful analogy: “Be your child’s thermostat, not the thermometer.” Encouraging parents to regulate their child’s emotions with understanding and care, she urged them to create daily rituals of connection—a special handshake, a bedtime story, or a moment of laughter shared uniquely between parent and child.
A special presentation was showcased to parents introducing them to a four-day event titled ‘Abhinandan’. This familiarisation event was specially designed for the Nursery students to interact with teachers and other students while easing them into their new environment.
A major highlight of the day was The Saga of Apeejay—a creative presentation offering parents a panoramic view of the school’s dynamic learning environment. Against the rhythmic beats of a tabla performance, students showcased their diverse talents through mini-presentations on basketball, Kathak, guitar, and more. Their enthusiasm was met with thunderous applause.
The programme also included an informative session detailing the school’s routine, homework expectations, communication guidelines, health protocols, and an exciting multi-sports initiative in collaboration with SportsGuru. Parents appreciated the school’s structured approach to holistic development.

Shruti Thakurathi, mother of Apeejay Saket students Devika (Class 2) and Mohika (Nursery), shared her confidence after attending the orientation. “I feel reassured knowing that my children are in a safe environment backed by Apeejay’s rich history in education. Their focus on instilling Indian cultural values alongside academic excellence is commendable. The idea of parents and school co-educating as a team really resonated with me.”
The event concluded with a vote of thanks extended by the Vice Principal Ms. Ashu Khattar and a soulful live orchestra performance by the school choir, leaving parents inspired and excited for the journey ahead. The Orientation Programme successfully set the tone for a collaborative and fulfilling academic year at Apeejay School, Saket.
