Storytelling is an activity that enhances communication skills, fosters creativity and encourages empathy by allowing listeners to see the world from different perspectives.
Apeejay Education has always been upfront in providing students with a wide array of activities to learn and grow. Activities like Hindi Kahani Vaachan Pratiyogita (storytelling competitions) play a crucial role in schools by enhancing students’ language skills, creativity, and public speaking abilities. They encourage students to connect with their cultural roots and develop a deeper appreciation for literature. Such events foster confidence and improve expression, enabling children to articulate their thoughts effectively.

To promote the spirit of healthy competition amongst the students, storytelling was organised for the students of class III on the topic – Meri Kahani, Meri Zubani.
The preliminary round of the pratiyogita was conducted in each section, where five students were selected for the final round. The competition saw enthusiastic participation as students narrated heart-warming stories with confidence, demonstrating their talent through effective voice modulation, expressive facial gestures, and impressive oratory skills.
The judges, Ms Rajni Rathi and Ms Sudha Sharma, evaluated the participants based on content, confidence, presentation, clarity of speech, and voice modulation.
The event provided a joyful learning experience for all and helped the young students strengthen their confidence and literacy skills. The Primary In-charge, Ms Smriti Samuel praised all the participants for their efforts and encouraged them to make arts a vital part of their daily routines.

She also motivated the students to participate actively in events that promote the official language of India. The students were thrilled to have this wonderful opportunity, which allowed them to express their creativity and build communication skills.
Aashwe Minhas and Arshi Gupta, students of class III A and C, respectively ranked No 1. Anaya Upadhyay, and Shubhanya, students of III B and E, respectively, were adjudged No 2.
The event was a great success, fostering a love for storytelling and building a sense of pride in the Hindi language among students.
