CBSE mandates composite skill labs in all schools

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently issued a significant notification that underscores its commitment to enhancing skill-based education in schools across India. As part of this initiative, the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) has proposed the mandatory establishment of ‘Composite Skill Labs’ in all CBSE-affiliated schools. According to the notification, all CBSE schools are now required to set up either one Composite Skill Lab with a minimum area of 600 square feet for classes 6 to 12, or two separate labs, each covering an area of 400 square feet. These labs are designed to be well-equipped with the necessary tools, machinery, and technology to provide a comprehensive learning environment that bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

For schools seeking fresh affiliation with the board, having a fully functional skill lab is now a mandatory requirement.
