Young patriots take centre stage at Republic Day assembly

To celebrate the 77th Republic Day of India, Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, organised a special assembly that reflected unity, pride, and deep respect for the nation. The occasion served as a reminder of India’s rich democratic legacy and the responsibility every citizen carries in preserving it.

The programme opened on a reflective note, setting the tone for a morning rooted in patriotism and purpose. Students came together with enthusiasm and sincerity, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India.

The assembly was a heartfelt tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices shaped the nation. Through well-curated presentations, students spoke about the historical importance of Republic Day, the rights and duties of citizens, and the values that guide a democratic society.

A short video on the Indian Constitution shared lesser-known facts, helping students and teachers revisit its relevance in everyday life. The significance of the Tricolour was also explained with clarity, highlighting how it symbolises courage, peace, and prosperity. Patriotic songs and graceful dance performances added warmth and emotion to the programme, strengthening the sense of national unity.

Words of guidance

Addressing the gathering, the school Principal, Capt Praveen Roy, encouraged students to respect the Constitution and practise its values in their daily lives. He reminded them that being informed, responsible citizens is as important as academic excellence.

Meanwhile, the celebrations continued in the Pre-primary and Primary Wings as well, where the spirit of Republic Day was introduced through age-appropriate and engaging activities. Storytelling sessions, rhymes, and pictorial quizzes helped young learners understand the importance of January 26, 1950.

Children participated in nature walks to the banyan tree, created vibrant tricolour artworks, and dressed in colourful costumes. These experiences helped them connect joyfully with the ideas of democracy, equality, and national pride.

Learning curve

The celebrations reinforced that patriotism begins with understanding, respect, and everyday responsibility, values that students will carry forward as future citizens of India.
