Young cricketers shine on the school playground

Heywood Broun once said: Sports do not build character. They reveal it. The school playground of Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, was filled with excitement and cheerful energy as a lively Cricket Match was organised for the students of nursery, LKG, UKG, and Classes I and II. The event aimed to introduce young learners to the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition while encouraging them to enjoy physical activity in a fun environment.

The tiny participants from nursery and LKG took part in the activity with great enthusiasm. For many of them, it was their first experience holding a cricket bat, yet their eagerness and confidence made the moment special. With the guidance of their teachers, the little ones learned the basics of batting, bowling, and fielding. Their excitement and bright smiles reflected how much they enjoyed the activity.

Students of UKG and Class II demonstrated growing coordination and teamwork during the game. They supported and cheered for their teammates, creating a lively and encouraging atmosphere. Their participation showed how sports can help build cooperation and confidence even at an early age.

The highlight of the event was the cricket match between Class I and Class II. Both teams displayed determination and enthusiasm as they played with great spirit. The young players showcased impressive batting and energetic fielding, making the match both exciting and enjoyable for everyone present. After a spirited contest, Class I emerged victorious with its consistent performance and teamwork.

More than the result, the event celebrated participation and learning. Students experienced the joy of playing together and learned valuable lessons about discipline, patience, cooperation, and respect for others.

The event was graced by the presence of the school Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, who blessed and encouraged the students. “ I am immensely proud of all our young students who participated in the cricket match with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. At such a tender age, learning teamwork, discipline, and confidence through sports is truly commendable. I congratulate Class 1 for their wonderful victory and appreciate every child for their spirited participation. Remember, sports teach us valuable life lessons beyond the classroom. Keep playing, keep learning, and always give your best,” Dr Vasishtha, shared.

The cricket activity concluded with joyful faces, proud teachers, and a memorable experience for all the young learners.
