Hello, everyone! My name is Haridya Sharma. Like many other kids, I am fascinated by facts such as how day and night happen, where the sun goes at night, and how seasons change. I always used to ask these questions whenever I looked at the sun, moon, stars, etc. After receiving answers and watching numerous astronomical videos, I learned about this topic.
I discovered that the Sun, along with a group of eight planets, is collectively called the Solar System. These planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus. The Sun is at the center of the Solar System, and all the planets revolve around it in their respective orbits.
Do you know how the planets stay in their orbits? The gravity of the sun keeps them in place, and there is no other force in the solar system that can stop or displace the planets. These planets also have their natural satellites, and our planet Earth’s natural satellite is called the Moon.
Earth revolves around the sun, causing day and night. The side facing the sun experiences day, while the other side experiences night. Additionally, the Earth’s position relative to the sun determines the seasons. The part closer to the sun experiences summers, while the part away from the sun experiences winter.
While revolving around the sun, Earth also spins around its own axis. It takes one spin in 24 hours and one year to complete a revolution around the sun.
This topic becomes more interesting every time I talk about it. I hope you will always find it fascinating. Thank you.
