Percy Jackson and the Olympians series has been written by American author Rick Riordan. The protagonist is Percy Jackson, an eleven-year-old boy living in Manhattan, New York. He finds out that he is a halfblood, half mortal and half God. He sets out to Camp Halfblood, a secret base dedicated to training heroes for battles and quests. He goes on quests with his friends Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood.
The antagonist is the Titan lord Kronos who has returned from the pits of Tartarus to take revenge against the Olympians and destroy Olympus for good. Will Percy and his friends be able to stop him on time? The genre of the series is mythological fiction/ fantasy. My favorite characters are Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase. I love Percy because he is brave-spirited, a natural leader and has a sarcastic sense of humor and Annabeth for her smart and strategic nature.
The writing style of the book leaves you in suspense and makes you laugh and cry at the same time. The novels are gripping, full of adventures and humor you won’t be able to put the book down. Book ends on cliffhangers and you are tempted to start the next book right away. With references to Greek mythology and folklore this is an interesting and modern take on it. The series has five books, each of them better than the other. I would urge everyone to give this series a read.
