
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the registration deadline for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Prelims 2025. Candidates now have until February 18, 6 pm to submit their applications on the official website upsconline.gov.in.
Originally set to close on February 11, the registration deadline has been extended by a week. Additionally, UPSC has announced a correction window from February 19 to 25, allowing applicants to modify their submitted details if necessary.
How to apply
Interested candidates can apply by following these steps:
- 1. Visit upsconline.gov.in.
- 2. Click on the Civil Services Prelims 2025 link.
- 3. If not registered, create a One-Time Registration (OTR) profile.
- 4. Use OTR credentials to log in and fill out the application form.
- 5. Pay the required fee and submit the form.
- 6. Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.

- General/OBC candidates: Rs 100
- Female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates: Exempted (No fee required)
- Payment can be made online.
UPSC CSE 2025 vacancies & selection process
This year, approximately 979 vacancies will be filled through the Civil Services Examination. The selection process consists of three stages: Preliminary and Mains. Once the aspirants have cleared both these rounds, they have to go through the interview.
- Candidates are advised to complete their applications before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
