Unveiling Talent: Aradhya Duggal on his artistic journey

Aradhya Duggal, a class 8 student at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, is a young artist with remarkable talent. Selected as this week’s Aspiring Artist, Aradhya shares his artistic journey, his love for sketching, and what drives his creativity.

When did you start drawing Aradhya?
I began drawing when I was just 5 years old. It’s been a passion ever since.

So, which art form is your favourite and why?
I really enjoy sketching and shading. There’s something about the way it brings a sense of realism to the artwork. It’s almost like watching life take shape on paper.

And how does your school support you as an artist?
It feels great to see my work published on the Apeejay Newsroom website. It’s such a boost to my confidence and really motivates me to keep creating more.

What is your definition of art?
For me, art is simply creativity in its purest form.

But how much time does it take to complete one artwork? What are the common ideas and themes in your work?
It usually takes me around 2-3 hours to finish an artwork. I don’t follow a specific theme—I like to make random sketches and see where my imagination takes me.

Do you have any upcoming artworks? Please tell us about that?

At the moment, I’m focused on my exam preparations, so I haven’t decided what’s next. But there will definitely be more to come soon!

Is there a new art form you wish to learn?
I’d really like to dive into video editing. It’s something I’m keen to explore especially as video is the king of content in the current times. Art videos also perform great!

Do you have any hobbies apart from art?
Yes, I enjoy reading books and keeping fit through exercise.
