Basant Panchami, also called as Saraswati Puja, is celebrated in honour of the Hindu Goddess Saraswati, who is the epitome of knowledge, music, art and learning. It is a festival that marks the arrival of the spring season. In this season, the beauty of nature is at its peak, enhancing the creation of the Almighty.
To celebrate this festival, Pre- Primary students of Apeejay School, Noida, dressed up in yellow attires and participated in the special assembly with great fervour and zeal.
The programme commenced with a special prayer and a song welcoming the spring season. It was followed by a divine rendition of shlokas, celebrating the harvest season of the Hindu festival.
Further, a kite flying activity was organised for the young learners and teachers. The spring of joy took over when all the students and staff members offered flowers to Goddess Saraswati, which was followed by the prasad distribution.
Ms Smriti Samuel, Primary In-charge delivered a motivational speech to the students. In her address, she highlighted why to become progressive learners, the importance of setting big goals and putting dedicated efforts into a promising and flourishing human harvest.
Ms. Shridevi, English Co-ordinator said, “Basant Panchami is a Hindu festival which is celebrated with great pomp and show across India on the fifth day of the Hindu month of Magha, Shukla Paksha. On this day, people across the country worship Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music and art. May the occasion of Basant Panchami bring a wealth of knowledge to everyone’s life.”
