Tiny graduates, big dreams: Kindergarteners steal the spotlight

The most awaited moment came alive at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, as the Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2025–26 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy on March 19, 2026. The entire pathway from the runway to the auditorium was beautifully adorned with vibrant graduation décor, setting a festive tone for the occasion. The event that commenced sharp at 9 am was brimming with excitement and anticipation.

The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries. The Chief guest for the event was Mr Athar Saeed, Senior Journalist, Radio Jockey, Anchor, and News Reader. The Guest of Honour, Ms Sujata Sundaresan, Principal of Panchshila Montessori School also graced the ocassion. Also present were the school management that included Vice-principal, Ms Vandana Bansal, Primary In-charge Ms Neeta Dutta, Pre-primary In-charge Ms Rachna Jain, along with dedicated teachers, proud parents, and enthusiastic students.

A warm welcome address was delivered by Ms Tanuja Raj (PRT), setting a gracious tone for the event. Adding charm to the proceedings was the delightful compering by the adorable duo, Mohammad Diam and Niya Saini. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge and enlightenment, followed by a soulful Ganesh Vandana presented by the choir group. The Vice-principal of the school then accorded a green welcome to the guests.

The atmosphere resonated with pride as students beautifully rendered the school song, Badhna Saathiya-Higher and Higher. The auditorium echoed with उत्साह and joy, marking a significant milestone as these young learners prepared to step into formal schooling.

Taking the centre stage, Mr Saeed said, “What we witnessed was truly wonderful. People often say stars are in the sky’, but today, I saw ‘stars on the stage’. What we witnessed today was clearly the result of months of hard work and dedication both by the teachers and students. The confidence shown by the children reflects their efforts. As parents, we share equal responsibility. While teachers guide in school, we must instil values, manners, and ethics at home.   The theme of nature and the five elements carried an important message.”

Today, our environment is under threat, polluted air, contaminated rivers, but small steps like carpooling, saving resources, and planting trees can make a difference, he added. “Let’s learn from our children and act responsibly. Let us take this message home and work towards preserving our planet for future generations. Once again, I extend my sincere thanks to the respected Principal, teachers, and everyone involved in organizing this wonderful event. It has truly been a refreshing and enriching experience,” he shared.

Sharing a similar sentiment, Ms Sundaresan said that it was heartening to see the children perform with great confidence and joy. “Even small moments on stage showed their presence of mind, which reflects the dedication and hard work of the teachers. Being in the same profession, I deeply appreciate the effort, care, and heart that go into nurturing each child. Parents, your children are truly blessed to be guided by such wonderful teachers. Teaching is a humbling journey, and every child carries a part of their teacher’s love and effort. All the very best, kids,”  she stated.

Extending a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, Ms Bansal shared, “It is a special milestone as our little ones graduate and step into Class I. I still remember their early days, some teary, some hesitant, but the transformation over these years has been remarkable. Through a rich thematic curriculum covering seasons, family, and more, along with activities like music, dance, and sports, children have grown confidently and holistically. Their performances today reflect this journey beautifully. This growth has been possible through the strong partnership between teachers and parents. Together, we nurture confident learners. Congratulations to our children and parents. Let us continue this journey together.”

It was then time for the cultural programme that revolved around the theme Five Elements of Nature-Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space, which was creatively brought to life by the little graduates through vibrant performances.

KG-A students mesmerised the audience with their depiction of the Water element, dressed in shades of blue. Their lively performance on Listen to the Water featured creative costumes such as tubewells, waterfalls, oceans, raindrops, and taps, spreading the important message of Save Water, Save Life.

KG-B students gracefully portrayed Air and Ether, appearing as clouds and birds in elegant white attire. Their performance on Blowing in the Wind captivated the audience with its lightness and beauty.

KG-C students showcased the Earth element, highlighting the current state of our planet and the urgent need to protect and preserve Mother Nature. A special highlight was the dynamic change of props aligned with each theme. The children also delighted everyone as little astronauts, dancing joyfully to Chalein Jaise Hawaiyein Sanam Sanam.

KG-D brought alive the Fire element through a spirited and energetic act. Dressed in striking red and orange costumes, students depicted elements like the sun and flames while performing enthusiastically to “Main Agni Hoon.”

Following the cultural presentations, the much-awaited graduation ceremony began. Students from KG A, B, C, and D were felicitated one by one. Dressed in adorable graduation robes, the children looked confident and proud. The highlight of this segment was the certificate distribution ceremony, where each child received recognition along with special titles. Adding a personal touch, each student’s photograph was displayed on the screen during the felicitation.

The event concluded with a sincere ‘vote of thanks’ extended by Ms Jain. “Our heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour for their inspiring presence. Sincere thanks to Vice-principal for her constant guidance, and to our dedicated teachers whose hard work and care made today possible. We deeply appreciate our parents for their trust and support. And to our dear children, you have made us immensely proud. The flawless performance you gave today is a reflection of your tireless efforts, meticulous planning, rehearsals, and above all, love and patience.Thank you all for being part of this beautiful celebration.”

Speaking about the ceremony, Devisha’s mother said, “Our journey with this school has been wonderful. My daughter joined directly from Play School, and the teachers here have provided a very supportive environment. I have seen a remarkable improvement in her overall growth and confidence. I truly appreciate the care and effort of the teachers and look forward to the same support in the coming years.”

“I still remember his first day; he was very reluctant to come to school. But in the last one year, I have seen a tremendous change. Watching him perform confidently on stage today was a proud moment. Thank you to the entire team for nurturing him so well,” the parent of Shivansh Rawat, said.

“My daughter joined the school last year, and we are very happy with her progress. She has grown academically and in other activities, too. We are excited to see her move to Class I and look forward to another wonderful year ahead,” Ms Prerna, mother of Neera Sharma, said.

This was followed by the National Anthem. Thereafter, parents and students enjoyed tea and snacks, shared their thoughts on the feedback wall, and captured memorable moments at the graduation photo booth.

The programme ended with a short Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM), where parents interacted with teachers and expressed their happiness and appreciation. The day concluded on a joyful and proud note, leaving parents with smiles and cherished memories of their children’s first milestone.
