Aarish is a young boy on whom the muse of creativity is very kind. This student not only confidently expresses his thoughts through poems but also expresses his imagination through artworks. Selected as this week’s Aspiring Artist, let us see what fresh perspective this inquisitive mind has to offer. Read edited excerpts:
So Aarish, since when did you start drawing?
I started drawing in class three but it was in class four when I joined Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar that I felt inspired by our art teacher, Sonia ma’am and began to draw more regularly.
Which art form is your favourite and why?
Sketching is my favorite art form because it allows me to create lifelike, real pictures. I simply love it.
And how does your school support you as an artist?
Our art teacher Ms. Sonia ma’am has supported me a lot by providing motivation, guidance and teaching us students various art forms. The Apeejay newsroom website has also played a crucial role in showcasing my talent.
Every artist has their definition of art. What’s yours?
Art, to me, is a way to express emotions, happiness and thoughts, giving a visual form to imagination.
How much time does it take you to complete an artwork? What are the common ideas and themes?
I usually take 1 to 2 days to complete an artwork, which ranges from divine deities to sceneries, all depending on my mood.
Any upcoming artworks?
My upcoming artwork will be a sketch of Christ Church in Shimla, my favorite place.
A new art form you wish to learn?
I wish to learn calligraphy. Those cursive strokes simply inspire me!
Other hobbies apart from art?
Apart from art, my interest areas include writing poetry, stories, playing chess, and cycling.
