Samaira, what all new writings have kept you busy?
Our mid-term exams were going on so I had been busy with the academic writings in my school notebooks! But, yes, I did indulge in writing a poem or two whenever I was a little stressed.
Nice to hear that! But please do tell us about the thought behind your poem: Making our mark in history?
So this poem was inspired by the theme for our class assembly. I have felt close to the topic ever since class 12 started, I have been emotional about the fact that this is the last year at school. I, along with my friends will try to make the most out of it. It is nice to be remembered fondly and with pride. I hope when I finish school, my teachers remember me fondly too for years to come. It’s not only about school, one should anyways make life worth the while.
We got to know about your new books as well. Please tell us about them?
My fourth book: Heartless has just been published. It is a collection of short stories. The stories are inspiring in nature, reiterating that with belief and faith a lot can be achieved. I am promoting the book currently, it is truly an incredible feeling!
So, your school classmates and teachers must be very proud of you?
I certainly hope so! My teachers and friends in school are extremely encouraging and supportive. I am thankful to have such strong support. All the teachers encourage me to give my best in whatever I do. Our dear Principal, Surabhi Mam takes extra effort to encourage talent and appreciate it.
So, what is your next creative writing project?
As of now, I have nothing on my mind. If some thought develops, then I shall start working on it. After all, ideas come when you least expect them.
Couldn’t have been said better! Any new books you have read or any poem you heard on social media that touched you?
I have not had the time to read anything of late as I have been giving all my free time to my passion: Music. I am training for some competition, so my focus is there at present.
