A heartwarming and patriotic display of celebration was conducted by Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park on Indian Air Force Day. A bevy of colours and vibrancy was seen as the students of classes IX-A and IX-C paid a beautiful tribute to the valour and dedication of personnel who ardently work for the safety of the nation’s skies.
The session started with the school prayer. It was a good start as all students and teachers stood up with a feeling of reverence and oneness. A reflective ‘thought for the day’ set the mood with the great psyche of the IAF-the spirit of valour, discipline and duty. The morning had promises of patriotism, learning, and thankfulness to our armed forces.
Speaking about the celebration, Surbhi Batra, PGT Home Science at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park said, “No one but ourselves can degrade us. We are as important and precious as we let ourselves be. The sky is our limit.”
Isha Gupta, of class IX-A, talking about the event said,” “Chase your dreams, just like the IAF chases excellence.”
Sharing a similar sentiment, another class IX-A, Atul Arora, shared, “Flying is in our blood, and service to the nation is in our heart.”
Celebration of Glory-Indian Air Force
The main attraction of the day was a speech on The Glory of the Indian Air Force by one of the students. It depicted history, achievements, and the forceful role the IAF played in protecting our nation. This moved us to pay a poetic tribute where students recited heart-touching poems, both in English and Hindi, paying tribute to the Air Force personnel for their courage and sacrifices. Poetry that struck everyone’s heart in class was heard that day, a very memorable poem.
To create more interest and expand knowledge about the Indian Air Force, a quiz competition was conducted. A wide range of questions that are being asked included history, aircraft, operations, and missions related to IAF. A soul-stirring rendition of Jabaaz Hum Chale– a musical tribute by the school’s choir group enriched the celebration.
A high point of the assembly was a talk show about the life of an Air Force officer. The session provided a glimpse into the challenges, responsibilities, and benefits of serving in the IAF.
Words of Encouragement
The assembly was concluded by the Vice-principal, Ms Vandana Bansal appreciated the performances and praised the students for their sincere efforts in making the event a success. She also expressed her gratitude toward the Indian Air Force for its relentless service, dedication, and protection of the nation.
The event at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park constituted a meaningful tribute and bestowed a feeling of pride and patriotism on the students while honouring the selfless service of the Indian Air Force.
